To commemorate the fifth anniversary of IPSYSO on 24 March 2026, IPSYSO Chair Yunus Emre Baran shared the following letter with members, volunteers, alumni, partners, and the wider international psychology community.
IPSYSO 5th Anniversary Letter
24 March 2026
Dear IPSYSO Family,
Today, we are not only celebrating an anniversary, but also the journey we have built together and the meaningful point this journey has reached. On 24 March 2021, in the midst of the uncertainties of the pandemic period, we set out with the aim of bringing psychology students together and creating a shared space for growth. In a short time, this journey evolved from a simple idea into something far greater, transforming into a productive and impactful structure that now extends beyond national borders.
Throughout this journey, IPSYSO has gone beyond being a community that simply organizes events; it has become an organization that develops projects, produces academic opportunities, takes responsibility in challenging times, and gradually establishes its presence across different geographies. This transformation has not been the result of a single individual or a specific team, but rather the collective effort, sense of responsibility, and shared belief of every individual who has contributed to this structure.
What began in Türkiye has steadily expanded in line with our goals and vision. As of March 2026, with the establishment of operations in Azerbaijan and Indonesia, IPSYSO has entered a new chapter as an international organization. This progress represents not only geographical expansion, but also a strong indication that the values we uphold and the structure we have built resonate across different cultures and communities.
For this reason, the point IPSYSO has reached today represents far more than the sum of individual contributions. It is the outcome of a collective effort and a culture of collaboration built by everyone who has been part of this journey at different times and in different roles. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed, taken responsibility, and helped shape IPSYSO over the past five years.
The greatest strength we hold today lies in the determination we have demonstrated in the past and our shared commitment to producing together. In the period ahead, we carry the responsibility of sustaining this strength with a broader vision, across more countries, and with an even greater impact. The growth of IPSYSO is not a destination, but an ongoing journey—and the most valuable element of this journey will always be the people who make this organization possible.
As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, I would like to once again thank everyone who has walked this path with us. I sincerely believe that the journey we began together will continue with the same determination, responsibility, and commitment, enabling IPSYSO to create even greater opportunities for psychology students and young professionals around the world.
Sincerely,
Yunus Emre Baran
